From The Ashes

Martin Anderson is the co-founder and pitmaster of From The Ashes BBQ, the London live-fire concept he launched with Curtis Bell in 2020. Since meeting while working together at Temper Soho, Martin has built a reputation for nose-to-tail barbecue, whole-animal cookery, and celebrating the exceptional produce of UK farmers through wood fire and smoke.

From The Ashes has grown from a lockdown pop-up in Hackney Wick into a regular fixture at festivals, residencies, and live-fire events across London, with Martin leading demonstrations and collaborative cooks that showcase traditional butchery and open-fire techniques.

In Chicago, Martin will be representing From The Ashes solo, collaborating with Brazilian chef Priscila Deus on a special menu: From The Ashes x Priscila Deus (London, UK), featuring a Goat on the Cross Taco and Patagonian Lamb cooked over Fogo de Chão, served with roasted pumpkin purée and Amazonian farofa. He will also be hosting live demonstrations covering lamb butchery and South American-inspired live-fire cookery, including Argentinian-style sausages, steaks, and whole-animal cooking.
